Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the skills to support and inspire students who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges? If so, we are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated team in a primary school setting, supporting primary-aged students.

Role: Learning Support Assistant
Type: Full-time (Temp to Perm)
Location: Welling, South East London
Term Time Only: Yes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with ADHD, social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive way.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to break down barriers to learning.
  • Assist in creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support student progress and well-being.

About You:

  • Experience working with children with ADHD, SEMH needs, or those displaying challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Patience, resilience, and a passion for helping students overcome their difficulties.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with both students and staff.
  • Ability to think creatively to engage students in learning and help them achieve their potential.
  • A calm and compassionate approach, with the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
