Job description
A Special School supporting young people with Social Emotional and Mental Health and Speech, Language and Communication Needs, is recruiting for a Class Teacher.
The school prides itself on its ability to deliver excellent educational experiences for young people aged 11-16, improving their life chances and serving the communities.
They aim to empower all their staffing team in their roles by investing in high quality CPD to enable them to carry out their roles faithfully and meet the needs of both the school community and Trust wide commitment of Equity through education.
The school boosts some amazing facilities to support the pupil’s development. This includes:
- Mechanics Workshop
- Hair and Beauty Salon
- Recording Studio
- Pottery and Art Design facilities
- BMX Track and full-sized rugby pitch to ensure they have access PE lessons and after school activities
As a SEN Teacher, your role will involve:
- Delivering and teaching engaging KS3 and 4 lessons that meet curriculum objectives
- Managing student behaviour, ensuring the classroom environment is safe and supportive of learning
- Plan, mark and assess the work of students
- To teach Monday – Friday
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- QTS
- Great subject knowledge, and a commitment to want to continue learning
- Be confident in using a variety of behaviour management strategies
- Passionate about teaching and the impact of a high-quality education on children’s learning progress and life outcomes
- Experience working with SEND pupils / the confidence to work with SEND children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
