Location: Birmingham 

Salary: Paid to Scale

Contract: Full-Time, starting January 2025

We are a progressive specialist school dedicated to providing exceptional education for secondary students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our inclusive environment fosters growth and development for both students and staff.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Specialist SEN Teacher to support secondary-aged students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), focusing on those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement customised lesson plans addressing the unique needs of students with SEN, particularly ASD.
  • Apply effective behaviour management techniques to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and execute Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers about student progress and any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with school policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience working with secondary students with SEN, especially those with ASD.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
