Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: England, Greater London, Wimbledon

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £90 - £110 per day

Job Duties:

• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Provide support to students in classroom activities and aid in their learning and development.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the needs of SEN students.
• Monitor and track the progress of SEN students, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Required Qualifications:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of SEN support strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable.

Experience:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Experience in an educational setting is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of SEN policies and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting SEN students.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CACHE Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
• Training in safeguarding and child protection.

Working Conditions:

• Interaction with students, teachers, and parents on a daily basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
