Job Title: Science Teacher

Location: Liverpool, UK
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent/Temporary
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team in Liverpool. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality science education to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on qualifications). This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real impact on students' academic and personal development in a supportive and innovative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Deliver Lessons: Design and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans that meet the needs of all students, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum.
  • Assessment: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and manages student behaviour effectively.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and review of the science curriculum to ensure it remains current, challenging, and relevant.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience, sharing best practices and participating in departmental meetings.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide guidance and support to students, addressing their individual needs and fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Participate in and/or lead science-related extra-curricular activities, clubs, or school events.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential.
  • Degree in Science or a related field: Essential.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching science at Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 experience desirable.
  • Strong Knowledge of the National Curriculum: Essential.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Passion for Science: A genuine interest in science and a desire to inspire young minds to explore and enjoy the subject.
  • Adaptability: Ability to tailor teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Enhanced DBS Check and on the Update Service: Required prior to starting.
