Job description

About the Role:
Are you an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher looking to inspire young minds? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and adaptable Science Teachers to support secondary schools in Waterlooville and the surrounding areas. This role offers flexibility and the chance to ignite curiosity and passion for science in students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, tailored to students of varying abilities.
  • Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Prepare students for GCSE exams with focused and effective teaching.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the science department’s curriculum and objectives.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessments to aid student progress and achievement.
  • Encourage participation in extracurricular science activities and events.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a specialism in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students to explore and enjoy science.
  • Experience teaching secondary school-aged students, particularly Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Flexibility to work on an ad hoc basis across various schools.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
