Job description

Teaching Personnel Birmingham are seeking a passionate and experienced Science teacher to work in one of our amazing partner schools based within the Solihull area.

The School itself: The School is an OFSTED rated "Good" with some areas of "Outstanding" and any educators we've sent there have absolutely thrived. It prides itself on its strong community feel and supportive staff members creating a warm, positive, learning environment. 

The role: They are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science teacher who can join their science department. You are required to be professional, flexible and have the ability to raise standards within the department.

Pay: Teaching Personnel will pay to scale on all fully qualified teacher roles (if you are not qualified but have excellent, relevant experience, pay will be dependent upon the level of experience)

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • PGCE in secondary Science
  • Previous experience teaching Science at a secondary school level
  • Bachelors degree in Science or similar subject
  • Previous experience within a classroom, e.g. as a cover supervisor, is beneficial

 

Job Roles/Responsibilities: 

  • Planning responsibility may be required, if so, plan a range of engaging and dynamic science lessons covering a broad spectrum of the secondary science curriculum whilst catering to varying needs within each class
  • Deliver science lessons in an exciting and positive manner that engages pupils and motivates them to learn
  • Remain a strong classroom presence and be confident in managing challenging behaviour
  • Regularly assess pupils' progress, providing timely and informative feedback, condusive with their learning
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the department to ensure it is a top performer within the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
