Part-Time Science Teacher for a Secondary School in Portsmouth

The Role:

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Science across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that foster curiosity and a passion for the subject
  • Adapt lesson plans to suit a wide range of abilities, ensuring that all students, including those who find Science challenging, are supported and encouraged
  • Implement creative strategies to motivate disengaged students, helping them reconnect with the subject and see the relevance of Science in everyday life
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, providing clear, constructive feedback to help them improve
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Science Department and across the school to ensure that all students are supported to achieve their best
  • Be an enthusiastic, resilient educator who is ready to make a difference in a school that values innovation, inclusivity, and student success

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 
  • Has experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4, with a proven ability to achieve results in challenging environments
  • Is a creative, reflective practitioner with strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and engage all learners
  • Has a passion for Science and the ability to communicate this to students of varying abilities
  • Demonstrates a flexible, resilient approach and is willing to take on the challenge of helping students exceed their expectations
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative and forward-thinking school environment, contributing new ideas and approaches to teaching
