Teacher of Science
Location: Manchester
Start Date: January 2025
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-improving and high-achieving secondary school in Manchester as a Teacher of Science. The school is renowned for its inclusive culture, strong community values, and commitment to academic excellence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in line with the Science curriculum (KS3 to KS4, and potentially KS5).
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and differentiated support.
  • Inspire curiosity and foster a love of Science through creative teaching methods and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Science department, including curriculum planning and extra-curricular activities.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including parents’ evenings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience of teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for inspiring young people and a genuine desire to contribute to the school’s ongoing improvement.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a supportive and forward-thinking team.
  • Dedication to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
