Position: Teacher of Science
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: Jan 2025

Summary:

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary academy in Bournemouth to recruit a Science Teacher. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a broad, balanced, and engaging science curriculum.
  • Monitor and support the progress and development of students as both a teacher and form tutor.
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to raising standards of student attainment and engagement.
  • Support the school’s mission to provide a nurturing environment for personal and academic growth.
  • Serve as a form tutor, supporting the well-being and personal growth of students.
  • Participate in evaluating and improving teaching practices and departmental performance.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree in Science.
  • Have successful teaching experience at the secondary level.
  • Be familiar with National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
  • Demonstrate strong ICT skills and experience with interactive whiteboards or similar tools.
  • Exhibit excellent time management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Possess the ability to foster a motivating and safe learning environment.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to obtain)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
