Job description

Are you a recent Science graduate with a passion for inspiring young minds? Do you want to earn as you train for your Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Science Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Northampton, starting in October 2024. As a Graduate Science Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach across the full age and attainment range at both Key Stage 3 and 4. This is a fantastic chance to gain valuable experience in a supportive environment, where you can develop your teaching skills while working towards your QTS. We are also welcoming applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are qualifying this year and are ready to take the next step in their teaching career.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students stay on task.
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons and activities.
  • Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policies.
  • Providing support to students in their Science studies.
  • Collaborating with teachers and support staff to enhance the learning experience.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A degree in Science or a related subject.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence in managing groups of students and maintaining classroom discipline.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in education or teaching.
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
