Job description

An Ofsted rated “good” school in the PR2 area of Preston have an exciting opportunity for a teacher of Religious Education to join their successful and thriving department ASAP.  This is a 6-week, full-time post with the opportunity to go permanent. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Religious Education at both KS3 and KS4 level.

Applications will be welcomed from both experienced teachers and ECT’s. The school have specified that a teacher with specialism in Religious Education is preferable, but they will also consider candidates with other Humanities backgrounds.

Candidate Requirements

  • Teacher holds QTS
  • Experience instructing RE at the GCSE level is desirable
  • Will be knowledgeable of and dedicated to safeguarding guidelines
  • Willingness to sustain the pastoral and behavioural standards of the school

Job description:

  • Building strong relationships with students; delivering lessons that are appropriately challenging, interesting, and organised
  • Adhering to lesson plans and schemes of work to ensure that all students can learn to their full potential
  • Contributing to the advancement of teaching and learning by exchanging resources and best practises
  • Participating in staff meetings to assess student development and talk about methods to enhance it
  • Recognising and rewarding students for their accomplishments
