Full-Time Reception Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Location: Liverpool (L31 area)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover)
Start Date: December until at least May 2025
Salary: £100-223 per day (dependent upon experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, creative lessons that inspire a love of learning and support the development of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, where every child feels valued and supported in their learning journey.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to promote the development of key skills in literacy, numeracy, and social and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and assess pupils’ progress, providing regular feedback and setting targets to ensure that all children achieve their best.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff members to deliver a cohesive and supportive learning experience.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and offering guidance on how they can support learning at home.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, participating in events, activities, and professional development opportunities.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in EYFS.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
- A nurturing and patient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with young children.
- Creative and engaging teaching methods that support children’s curiosity, exploration, and confidence.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
