HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) – Reception Class

Location: Litherland, L21

Contract Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.90-13 per hour

A thriving and inclusive primary school committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team in Reception on a full-time basis. They believe in fostering a love of learning from an early age and are looking for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who can adopt this approach. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver high-quality, play-based learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Lead small group interventions and whole-class activities, ensuring that learning objectives are met.
  • Support the social, emotional, and academic development of children in the Reception class, promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Assist with the assessment of children's progress, helping to identify areas where additional support may be needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support individual children's learning and development.
  • Provide cover for the class teacher as required, maintaining a safe and effective learning environment.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and experience working in an Early Years setting.
  • Ability to lead small groups and manage whole-class activities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • A passion for supporting young children's learning and development, with a patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
