Primary Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking to recruit a Classroom Assistant to join a Primary School in Morpeth on a full-time basis, starting in September 2024. As a Classroom Assistant, you will provide essential support to both children and teachers, using your initiative where required. The successful candidate will foster positive relationships with students and staff to ensure a conducive learning environment. You may also be expected to conduct interventions with small groups of children in maths and literacy, so confidence in these subjects is desired.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support children with classwork and activities in group settings or on an individual basis.
• Assist the teacher with the preparation of materials and resources needed for lessons.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Supervise children during class and break times.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Desire to support children and assist with their learning and development.
• Experience with children in a professional or personal setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
