Primary SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are currently seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant on behalf of a school based in South Shields. The successful candidate, whilst working under the supervision of a qualified teacher, must be able to work independently and provide support to small groups of children.
The role is full time, commencing in Septemeber with the potential of a longer term role. You will be required to support children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children with SEND.
The school caters for a mixed range of SEND needs, including ASC, Physical/Visual/Hearing Impairments, Cognitive disabilities and medical needs. The school is extremely welcoming and has great facilities to support its pupils. Knowledge of BSL/Makaton and/or experience with pupils with Speeh, Language and Communication difficulties is extremely desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
