Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Start Date: September 2024

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team and support our students in achieving their full potential.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the class teacher and enhancing the learning experience for all students. This role involves working with individuals and small groups of children, assisting with classroom activities, and providing targeted support to those who need it most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Help to create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students in their social and emotional development.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Supervise students during break and lunch times as required.
  • Support with the assessment and recording of student progress.
  • Participate in school activities, events, and trips as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff and other professionals to support student learning.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and current educational practices.
  • First Aid certification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
