PMLD Specialist Teaching Assistant (SEN Specialist Schools)
Location: SEN Specialist Schools in South London Boroughs (Wandsworth, Croydon, Sutton, Merton, and surrounding areas)
Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
Start Date: As soon as possible
Teaching Personnel is excited to collaborate with SEN Specialist Schools across South London, seeking compassionate and skilled PMLD Specialist Teaching Assistants to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). These schools are dedicated to delivering high-quality, individualised support to students, promoting both academic and personal growth in a fully inclusive environment.
We are currently looking for dedicated PMLD Specialist TAs to join our team, supporting students with complex needs through personalised care and tailored educational activities.
The ideal candidate will:
- Provide focused 1:1 and small group support for students with complex and profound learning needs.
- Foster a safe, positive environment, using adapted resources and assistive technologies to engage students.
- Assist with personal care tasks and collaborate on therapy exercises, helping students with sensory, communication, and physical needs.
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and therapists to ensure each student’s learning plan is effectively supported.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with PMLD, ideally within SEN or specialist school settings.
- Relevant qualifications in SEN support or PMLD care are highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
