Job description

Teaching Personnel is looking for a creative, charismatic and driven Performing Arts Teacher for a specialist educational provision in South Bristol. This provision is committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education for secondary-aged students with a range of learning and developmental needs. Their supportive community is built on understanding, empathy, and the belief that every student has the potential to thrive through tailored teaching approaches.

The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Performing Arts Teacher to lead and inspire students, harnessing the power of music, drama, and dance to develop their confidence, self-expression, and communication skills. You will play a key role in creating engaging, accessible, and differentiated lessons, fostering an environment where all students can flourish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Performing Arts lessons tailored to individual needs, incorporating drama, music, and dance.
  • Foster creativity and self-expression, supporting students in overcoming challenges and building confidence.
  • Use innovative approaches to make learning accessible for students with diverse needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other specialists to support holistic student development.
  • Develop and adapt resources, ensuring they are inclusive and cater to varied abilities.
  • Assess and track student progress, celebrating achievements and adapting plans as needed.
  • Contribute to whole-school events such as performances and creative showcases, promoting a sense of community and achievement.

The successful educator will have the following:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a background in Performing Arts or a related subject.
  • Experience or strong interest in working within an SEN setting.
  • A creative and adaptable teaching approach, with excellent communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting the development of young people with additional needs.
  • A collaborative spirit, eager to work as part of a dynamic and supportive team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
