PE Cover Supervisor

Location: NN4

Pay: £90 to £130 per day

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, capable and innovative Cover Supervisor & Sports Coach, with a proven commitment to inclusive and inspiring teaching and learning, where each and every child is supported and challenged to succeed.

The post represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant and ambitious Academy working within the Creative Education Trust.

You will have a good level of English and Maths, as well as experience of working with groups of students, ideally in a school setting. You will be a resourceful and flexible person with a positive mind set, with the ability to inspire students and remain calm under pressure. You will need to have high expectations of the students and yourself and be self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being an effective team member.

To be considered for this role, we will need -

  • Ideally experience working with secondary aged children either in a paid or a voluntary capacity
  • Proof of Right to Work, this could be your Passport or Birth Certificate.
  • A CV that covers 10 years of education or employment.
  • A fully enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to process one with us. (We will refund the cost of the DBS)

Our Unqualified Teachers will be supported to:

  • Deliver effective and engaging lessons for pupils in low attaining groups.
  • Plan thoroughly and teach effectively, all lessons that promote the development of abilities and aptitudes of all pupils in classes and groups assigned, enabling them to make good or better progress.
  • Differentiate and personalise planning and teaching to ensure the achievement of all learners.
  • Maintain high levels of behaviour using positive intervention strategies.
  • Work in partnership with additional adults, planning together as appropriate and directing the support to have maximum impact on the learning of pupils.
  • Promote the general progress and well-being of individual pupils.
  • Liaise with the Line Manager/Mentor to ensure the implementation of the school’s pastoral system.
  • Contribute to the preparation of Individual plans and/or behaviour support plans.
  • Alert appropriate staff to any problems experienced by pupils.
  • Communicate as appropriate with parents/carers of pupils outside of the school concerned with the welfare of individuals, after consultation with appropriate staff.
  • Always operate within the stated policies and practices of the school, including professional duties.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of good practice in teaching techniques.
  • You will have a subject specialism and you can contribute to the curriculum planning, you may also be required to take account of wider curriculum developments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
