Pastoral Welfare Officer
Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pastoral Welfare Officer at a Primary School in the L25 area. This newly created role calls for an educator with relevant experience in key areas.
Key Information:
- Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (The school intends to offer a permanent contract to the successful candidate following a successful trial period).
- Contract Term: Full-time, 35 hours per week, term-time only plus 5 INSET days.
- Start Date: January 2025
The Role: The school is seeking a candidate to support pastoral care, focusing on addressing the mental and physical needs of pupils to help remove barriers to learning. The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to help pupils with their social care and personal development. This role involves delivering interventions to individuals and groups alike to promote pupils’ wellbeing, so experience in delivering such interventions is essential. The ideal candidate will have a warm and approachable manner, be skilled in building strong relationships with parents/carers and staff and be passionate about supporting young people. Additionally, the role involves providing first aid and medical assistance to pupils and working closely with the attendance team to improve pupil attendance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
