Music Teacher – Cultivate a Love for Music in an Inspiring Setting

About the Role:

In this position, you’ll deliver engaging Music lessons across KS3 and KS4, encouraging students to explore various music genres, develop practical skills, and express their creativity. Working alongside a dedicated arts faculty, you’ll be instrumental in fostering a culture of artistic exploration and performance across the school.

What You’ll Do:

  • Engage and Educate: Teach comprehensive Music lessons covering theory, composition, and performance, igniting students' enthusiasm for music in its many forms.
  • Enrich Through Performance: Prepare students for school concerts, recitals, and productions, helping them build confidence and stage presence.
  • Encourage Musical Skills: Guide students in developing their instrumental and vocal abilities, tailoring lessons to include a mix of practical and theoretical components.
  • Innovate the Curriculum: Work with the arts team to bring fresh ideas and musical innovations to the curriculum, aligning with both traditional and contemporary music standards.
  • Individualised Support: Create an inclusive classroom atmosphere, supporting students of varying skill levels to ensure every learner can achieve their musical potential.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Music, with experience teaching Music across KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong knowledge of Music theory, composition, and a range of musical styles, combined with a passion for helping students discover and develop their musical abilities.
  • Previous experience directing or supporting school musical performances, ensembles, or productions is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage students, creating a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborative spirit, working closely with colleagues in the arts department to enhance the school's music and arts culture.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
