Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Location: Kettering Primary School

Salary: £85 - £90 per day

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant with experience in working one-on-one with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our team at a vibrant Kettering Primary School. As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of SEND children, helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. 1:1 Support: Provide tailored one-on-one support to SEND children, ensuring their specific needs are met and that they are fully engaged in the learning process.

  2. Inclusive Education: Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to create inclusive learning environments, adapting materials and activities to accommodate the needs of SEND students.

  3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assist in assessing students' progress and development, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.

  4. Behavioral Support: Implement behavior management strategies and interventions, fostering a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.

  5. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans, tailoring learning objectives to meet each child's unique requirements.

  6. Personal Care: Provide personal care and support when necessary, including assistance with toileting, feeding, and mobility, adhering to school policies and procedures.

  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress, incidents, and observations, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

  8. Professional Development: Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on the latest techniques and strategies for working with SEND children.

  9. Health and Safety: Promote a safe and secure environment for all students, following school health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working one-on-one with SEND children in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of SEND conditions, strategies, and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with SEND.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
  • A clear DBS check and relevant safeguarding training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
