Position: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)
Start Date: February 2025
Location: Blackburn
Hours: 12.20pm – 3.30pm
Contract Type: Part-Time, Temporary

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Nursery-aged pupil undergoing assessments to identify specific needs. This role requires an enthusiastic individual who can build strong relationships and deliver tailored support, including personal care and speech & language development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to the pupil, ensuring their individual needs are met within the Nursery environment.
  • Assist with personal care needs, ensuring the pupil’s dignity and comfort at all times.
  • Support the pupil’s speech and language development through targeted interventions, as directed by external professionals.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and adapt resources.
  • Contribute to the pupil’s ongoing assessment by observing and recording progress.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to encourage the pupil’s social and emotional development.

About You:
We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
  • Has experience working with early years children, particularly those with additional needs.
  • Is patient, understanding, and passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential.
  • Has knowledge or experience of working on speech and language interventions (desirable but not essential).
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and can maintain confidentiality at all times.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
