Learning Support Assistant - Secondary School

Location: Oldham

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic secondary school in Oldham. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and succeed in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of learning needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities.
• Assist students in accessing the curriculum, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom activities.
• Work closely with teachers to implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and adapt teaching materials to meet the specific needs of students.
• Support students with their social, emotional, and academic development, helping to build their confidence and self-esteem.
• Assist with the monitoring and recording of student progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SEN coordinator.
• Help to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and able to achieve their potential.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
• A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• A proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid DBS check registered with the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
