Learning Support Assistant

Location: Kidderminster

Hours: Full Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm)

Contract: Temporary (opportunities to go permanent)

Weekly Salary: £425 to £450

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a new SEN School in Kidderminster. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about education and committed to supporting the learning and development of children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive and positive learning environment.

  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities.

  • Encourage and promote independent learning and confidence in pupils.

  • Support students’ social and emotional development, fostering a nurturing atmosphere.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to monitor and report on student progress.

  • Help maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey.

  • Experience in a similar role or a strong desire to develop in this field (previous experience in an educational setting is advantageous but not essential).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the varying needs of students.

  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent (desirable).

  • A child DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
