Job description

I am working with a lovely school in the West Sussex area, who are seeking to appoint a high quality, compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team, an SEMH school for boys aged 7 – 16 years.

As the successful Teaching Assistant, you will need to enjoy working with children with Special Education Needs, particularly Social Emotional Mental Health needs. You will need to be flexible, resilient and able to provide positive support with a holistic nurturing approach.

You are encouraged to bring energy and enthusiasm to the role, to ensure that the pupils achieve their best.

This role would suit someone who enjoys the outdoors, as a lot of time is spent in the sprawling grounds that the school has to offer its pupils and staff alike. Days out also include activities such as canoeing in the summer, and country park assault courses.

Previous experience working in a school is not essential but is beneficial. An understanding of SEMH needs will provide a solid foundation for being able to nurture and build positive relationships with the pupils.

School hours are:

Monday – Wednesday 8.15am – 3.20pm

Thursday 8.15am – 3.20pm and until 4.20pm every other Thursday

Friday 8.15am – 2.05pm

Due to its location, you must be able to drive and have your own transport as there is no access to public transport links.

If you believe that this role is ideal for you, please do apply today!
