Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking for flexible work opportunities? Do you want to make a difference in student's lives while managing your own schedule? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated LSA's to support schools in Portsmouth on a day-to-day basis or for short-term assignments.

Your Key Responsibilities:
As a flexible Learning Support Assistant, your role will include:
- Supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
- Assisting students in a classroom setting, in small groups, or on a one-to-one basis, adapting support strategies to meet individual needs.
- Promoting positive behaviour and fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other staff to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies.
- Providing additional help during lessons to ensure all students can access the curriculum effectively.
- Offering emotional and social support to build student's confidence and resilience.
- Maintaining professionalism and adhering to the school’s policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role is essential.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEND and SEMH needs.
- The ability to adapt quickly to different school environments and build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate registered on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
