30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (TTO plus 5 training days)

Monday—Friday 08:00—15:05 including a 30 minute lunchbreak.

 

Teaching Personnel are working with one of our partner secondary schools who are looking for a Learning Support Assistant with a good general education to work in their Learning Support Department. Relevant previous experience is not essential, but would be valued.

The work will be varied and will largely involve supporting children aged 11-16 who have special educational needs (both learning and behavioural difficulties). The person appointed will provide in-class support with small groups and one-to-one teaching.

The schools well-established Learning Support Team will provide training and support for the successful candidate.

You will need to be literate, numerate, along with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and possess first class communication skills.

The school have over 1400 students on roll with approximately 240 students in the Sixth Form. The school is over-subscribed!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Help with classroom management and administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable.
  • A caring and patient nature, with a genuine passion for supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare is advantageous but not essential.
