About the Company:

Teaching Personnel are working with an Outstanding Specialist College (Ofsted, November 2019) providing life-changing learning opportunities to young people and adults with special education needs and/or disabilities. With eight vibrant community-based College Centres across London and Surrey, who serve over 400 students.

Job Description:

They are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our dynamic team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our Lecturing staff to facilitate educational activities for adults with special needs. Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing individualised support to students to aid their learning process
  2. Implementing therapy, health, and well-being programmes as directed
  3. Ensuring correct implementation of individual learning programmes
  4. Collaborating with colleagues to maintain a positive learning environment
  5. Maintaining students' well-being at all times

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience in caring or voluntary work with individuals with special needs
  • Knowledge of best practises in supporting individuals with learning disabilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Special Education or related field
  • Additional training in areas such as therapy or special education

Working Conditions:

  • Full-Time position, working across multiple College Centres if required
  • Interacting with students with diverse needs and abilities
  • Collaborating closely with Lecturing staff, Nurses, and Therapists

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
