Learning Support Assistant

Location: Various Locations across Guildford

Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time/Adhoc

Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our schools across Guildford. The successful candidates will work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to support students' learning and development. This role involves working with children with diverse needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans.
  • Support classroom activities, helping to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor student progress and adapt support as needed.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting self-esteem and confidence.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to student support and learning.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably in primary, secondary, or SEN schools is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different school environments.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
