Learning Support Assistants needed!

 

Are you enthusiastic about making a positive impact on young learners' lives? Teaching Personnel working closely with secondary schools in the Fareham area who are seeking supportive and dedicated individuals to join their teams as Learning Support Assistants.

This is an excellent opportunity for those committed to providing exceptional educational support and helping students reach their full potential.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be integral to the classroom, supporting both teachers and students. You will work closely with students requiring additional help, offering personalised support to ensure they can engage with the curriculum and achieve academic success.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with classroom activities, helping manage student behaviour, and providing one-on-one or small group support to students needing extra assistance.

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications: A minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics. Additional qualifications in education or child development are a plus.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly preferred.
  • Patience and Empathy: A genuine passion for working with young people and the ability to remain patient and empathetic in challenging situations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with teaching staff and other support assistants.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work with students of varying abilities and to adjust support methods as needed.
  • Commitment: A strong dedication to the educational success and well-being of all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Learning: Assist students with their academic tasks, ensuring they understand and complete their work.
  • Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive learning environment by managing student behaviour and encouraging engagement.
  • Individual Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist teachers in preparing educational materials and resources.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and report on the progress of students, highlighting any areas of concern to the teacher.
  • Encouragement and Motivation: Foster a supportive atmosphere where students feel encouraged and motivated to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
