Learning Support Assistant

Daventry, Northamptonshire

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with diverse learning needs. This role is essential in helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support classroom activities and help manage student behavior.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt learning materials.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development.
  • Experience working with students with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
