Position: Full-Time Learning Support Assistant

A reputable mainstream secondary school in Christchurch, known for its inclusive education and dedicated SEN (Special Educational Needs) unit, is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students with SEN, helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students.
• Work closely with the SEN Coordinator and teaching staff to create a positive learning environment.
• Support students during lessons, ensuring they remain engaged and focused.
• Encourage the development of social skills and support students' participation in school activities.

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred.
• A passion for working with young people and a commitment to their educational and personal development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and adaptability.
• Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are advantageous.
