Lead Practitioner of English – Darwen
Start Date: January 2025
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: MPS/UPS Dependent on experience with TLR

A highly reputable multi-academy trust invites applications for the role of Lead Practitioner of English at its Darwen-based school. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced English specialist to lead teaching and learning, inspire staff, and drive improvements across the department.

The Lead Practitioner of English will:

  • Champion excellence in English teaching across all key stages.

Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related subject.
  • Have a proven track record of outstanding teaching and leadership within an English department.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the English curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment strategies.
  • Be an exceptional communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Exhibit a commitment to inclusion, equality, and the holistic development of every student.
  • Possess the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop colleagues at all career stages.
  • Show resilience, creativity, and a results-oriented mindset.
