About the Role:

You will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. You will work closely with a team of professionals, including teaching assistants and support staff, to deliver tailored lessons that cater to the individual needs of each student. Your commitment to fostering a positive learning experience will empower students to achieve their full potential.

The school caters for young people across KS3 and KS4 who have been excluded from mainstream education for various reasons including mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching across the board, covering a mixed timetable 
  • Deliver engaging lessons that are adapted to meet the varying abilities of students.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience in SEN education.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs and how to overcome them.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching.
  • Experience working with a range of SEN conditions, including ASD, ADHD, and other learning difficulties, is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
