Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN Outreach Tutor

Location: England, Greater London, Ilford

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to support students in achieving their educational goals
  • Assess students' learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student development
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge in teaching English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching English and Maths to Key Stage 3 students
  • Demonstrated experience in adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for English and Maths
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Proficient in assessing student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience in delivering outreach programmes to support student learning outside of the classroom

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, working on a temporary basis
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate student needs
  • Work primarily in educational settings such as schools, community centres or learners homes

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
