A highly regarded and Ofsted-rated 'Good' primary school in Woolwich is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team in Novmber 2025. The Role:


The successful Key STage 1 Teacher will take full responsibility for teaching a KS1 class, contributing to the development and delivery of the curriculum, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. The role offers the chance to make a real impact on young learners' lives while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all pupils.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing timely feedback and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure pupils’ success and well-being.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including participation in staff meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development.


The ideal Key Stage 1 Teacher will demonstrate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Proven experience teaching Key Stage 1, with a solid understanding of the KS1 curriculum.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in young children.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to both teaching and teamwork.
  • An understanding of inclusive teaching practices and the ability to support pupils with diverse needs.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the school’s ethos and community.

Desirable:

  • Experience with phonics schemes such as Read Write Inc. or similar.
  • Previous experience in an Ofsted-rated Good or Outstanding school.
  • An interest in contributing to extra-curricular activities.
