I.C.T Teacher (SEN Specialist School)

Location: Croydon, Greater London 
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Paid to Scale + SEN Allowance 
Start Date: January 2025

Teaching Personnel is pleased to partner with an SEN Specialist School in South London, supporting the recruitment of an enthusiastic and experienced I.C.T Teacher. This role will involve leading and shaping the I.C.T curriculum and supporting students with diverse learning needs, particularly those in Key Stages 4 and 5.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Take the lead within the I.C.T Department, establishing high standards in teaching and learning.
  • Support each student in reaching their full potential through setting and meeting ambitious learning targets.
  • Create and deliver a forward-thinking I.C.T curriculum, which includes a rich variety of extracurricular and enrichment activities.
  • Provide effective guidance and oversight to Teaching Assistants, ensuring that the department’s goals are met with a clear link to professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and motivate the I.C.T team to uphold a high standard of teaching and learning.
  • Conduct regular assessments and quality checks to ensure consistency and excellence in classroom delivery.
  • Develop adaptable curriculum plans that meet a range of learning needs, especially for KS4 and Post-16 students.
  • Attend relevant meetings with SLT and uphold Health and Safety standards across all I.C.T spaces.
  • Promote ongoing professional development within the team, fostering a culture of shared expertise and best practices.
  • Complete essential administrative duties, including coordinating exams, reporting student progress, and overseeing quality assurance.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent 
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of SEN practices, current curriculum standards for KS4/KS5, and relevant education legislation.
  • Skills: Proven ability to manage groups effectively, a collaborative work style, and the flexibility to support a variety of learning needs.
  • Personal Qualities: Compassionate, resilient, and dedicated to meeting the needs of students with complex behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check 
  • Role may involve working with students with behavioral needs, requiring vigilance in observing Health and Safety protocols, including completing physical intervention training as provided by the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
