32.5 hours per week, term-time only plus 5 inset days

The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a key role in supporting outstanding progress in learning, helping pupils achieve both academically and personally. Working under the guidance of a teacher or phase lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and leading a class.
  • Building strong relationships and communicating effectively with pupils.
  • Managing student behavior in the classroom, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Keeping pupil records and providing regular feedback to senior colleagues.
  • Flexibly covering other classes and stepping up when necessary.
  • Leading enrichment groups using your expertise.
  • Participating in and actively supporting all school activities and initiatives.
  • Providing guidance and direction to junior staff.

The Candidate
We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience in a school or similar setting.
  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs.
  • Hold GCSE qualifications in Maths and English.
  • Possess a Level 3 qualification and are eager to complete Level 4.
  • Have an HLTA qualification or are willing to achieve it within two years through our CPD programme.
  • Are car drivers with access to their own vehicle.
  • Demonstrate resilience and align with the school’s core values.

Salary and Hours

  • Starting salary: £25,532 (actual annual salary).
  • Working hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only (plus 5 inset days).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
