History Graduate Cover Supervisor – Oldham Secondary Schools

Are you a recent History graduate looking to step into the world of education? Do you have a passion for the past and want to inspire young minds? We are seeking a History Graduate Cover Supervisor for secondary schools in Oldham.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain classroom experience, develop leadership skills, and explore potential pathways into teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising History lessons in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students complete pre-set tasks.
  • Managing classroom behaviour, creating a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Supporting students with their History work, helping them engage with historical events, concepts, and debates.
  • Working closely with the History department to ensure lesson continuity and academic progress.
  • Encouraging critical thinking, discussion, and a love for History in the classroom.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in History or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Confident in managing classrooms and maintaining behaviour standards.
  • Passionate about History and making a positive impact on students’ learning.
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
