A highly regarded primary school in Woolwich, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a permanent basis starting in January 2025. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in accordance with the curriculum under the direction of teachers.
- Lead small group interventions to raise attainment across core subjects.
- Provide support to teachers in the planning and preparation of lessons.
- Cover classes during teacher absences and provide high-quality teaching and learning opportunities.
- Assist with classroom management, maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Assist with assessment and reporting of pupil progress.
Essential Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent, recognised in the UK.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and primary education standards.
- Experience working with children with SEN and adapting teaching approaches accordingly.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Attributes:
- Prior experience covering whole classes.
- Experience delivering interventions to support literacy and numeracy.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a passion for improving outcomes for all pupils.
