A vibrant, Ofsted-rated "GOOD" primary school in Wimbledon is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to join their team on a permanent basis starting in January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant looking to take the next step in their career, or a current HLTA eager to bring their skills and passion to a supportive school environment.
Role Overview:
As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to help deliver high-quality education to students. You will also have the opportunity to cover classes, lead small group interventions, and contribute to the overall learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Class Teachers: Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities in accordance with the national curriculum.
- Classroom Management: Take responsibility for whole class teaching when needed, ensuring smooth delivery of lessons in the teacher’s absence.
- Intervention Support: Lead small group sessions or 1:1 interventions to support children with their learning and development.
- Collaboration: Work with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide tailored support for children, including those with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
- Assessment and Feedback: Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and provide feedback to teachers.
Requirements:
- HLTA Qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience working in a primary school setting, ideally across multiple year groups.
- A solid understanding of the primary national curriculum.
- Experience in leading small groups and/or whole class sessions.
- Ability to differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Passionate about education and committed to supporting the school’s ethos and values.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
