Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Full-Time in Wilmslow

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time position at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow. The role is set to begin in October and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent depending on performance.

Role Overview:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both students and teachers by:

  • Delivering lessons and covering classes across a range of subjects in the absence of teachers, ensuring a smooth continuation of learning.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students who may need additional help with their studies.
  • Assisting with lesson planning and resource preparation, working closely with teachers to ensure students’ learning needs are met.
  • Monitoring and assessing students' progress, offering feedback, and adapting teaching methods to support their development.
  • Helping to manage classroom behavior, ensuring a positive and conducive learning environment.
  • Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and working alongside the SEN department to provide tailored support when necessary.
  • Leading intervention sessions or extra-curricular activities to support students in achieving their learning goals.

This role requires a confident individual who can work independently, as well as part of a team, and has a strong understanding of classroom management and student engagement.

Key Details:

  • Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week, based on experience and responsibilities.
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Start Date: October, with the role lasting until the end of the academic year.
  • Potential for the role to become permanent depending on performance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
