Job Description:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering learning activities under the direction and supervision of qualified teachers
  • Providing support to individual students or small groups to enhance their learning and address specific needs
  • Leading whole-class sessions, including cover for teacher absences when required
  • Assisting in the assessment and recording of student progress
  • Supporting the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student well-being and academic achievement
  • Participating in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and contribute to the school community

Qualifications:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably at the higher level
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Passion for supporting the learning and development of young learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
