About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is delighted to be recruiting for committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join the team at a post 16 setting in Plymouth. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and rewarding environment, delivering specialized support to students aged 16+ with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as other learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1:1 Student Support: Work closely with students on an individual basis, providing tailored assistance that addresses their unique learning needs and fosters a positive, supportive environment.
- Engaging Content Delivery: Deliver engaging educational content to post-16 students, with a focus on developing core skills and building self-confidence.
- Relationship Building: Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage learning, resilience, and personal growth.
- Supportive Teaching Approach: Use your initiative and confidence to manage challenging situations and inspire students to achieve their best.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team to ensure that all students are given the support and resources they need to thrive.
About You:
- SEN Experience: Demonstrated experience in supporting or teaching students with SEN, particularly at the post-16 level.
- Confident & Proactive: A self-starter who can take initiative and has the confidence to engage with students on a 1:1 basis.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with students and colleagues alike.
- Passion for Education: A genuine passion for seeing students succeed and for supporting those who may need a little extra help along the way.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
