Are you passionate about education and eager to support students in their academic journey? We are working in partnership with a primary school based in Caerphilly and are seeking a dedicated Higher Learning Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in enhancing the learning experience for students and assisting faculty members in various academic activities.

Job responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teachers to support classroom activities, including preparing materials, setting up equipment, and facilitating discussions.
• Assist students with understanding course materials, assignments, and projects through one-on-one tutoring sessions or group study sessions.
• Provide guidance and support to students in developing effective study skills, time management techniques, and academic strategies.
• Assist in grading assignments, exams, and other assessments, ensuring accuracy and consistency in evaluation.
• Monitor student progress and identify areas where additional support or intervention may be needed.
• Assist in maintaining records of student attendance, participation, and academic performance.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of materials and activities to enhance student learning outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have:

• CASHE level 2 or 3 or relevant experience
• Previous experience working in the education sector.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
