Welsh speaking Teaching Assistant
Hearing Impaired Base
Penarth area
Start date: Monday 6th January 2025.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15am-15:15pm (term time only).
Pay: £13.50 + per hour.
A unique role has arisen in a lovely secondary school in the Penarth area within their bespoke hearing impaired base. The department are seeking someone who has experience working with adults or children with hearing impairments and able to effectively assist pupils with the national curriculum.
About you:
- Personal or professional experience assisting with hearing impairment needs.
- Minimum of A-level or equivalent (Degree highly desirable).
- Able to commit to a full-time role during term time.
- Fluent Welsh Speaker (will consider applications if not fluent in Welsh).
- Passionate about making a difference to young peoples lives.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Offering close educational support to pupils within the hearing impaired base.
- Enhancing the pupils learning experience.
- Working closely with the pupils to improve on their lifeskills and school work.
- British Sign Language (BSL) is not compulsory but is highly desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and caring school who care about their staff and pupils. This role doesn’t come up often within this department and the team are seeking a positive individual who wants to enhance the learning and environment.
Interviews are being held week commencing 16th December and in January if unsuccessful with shortlisting prior to Christmas.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
