Position: Head of Spanish
Location: Northampton
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Salary: Main or Upper Payscale Plus TLR 2a

If you're ready to lead our clients schools Spanish department to new heights, we want you to join our team as the Head of Spanish!
Based in Northampton the school have excellent transportation links for both drivers and those that would require to use public transport. A 30 minute commute from surrounding areas such as Milton Keynes. Including various bus options, a lovely cycling route to the school and a large car park. They have been rated a ‘Good school’ by Ofsted with great facilities in the school for teaching.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of a dynamic and engaging Spanish curriculum
- Mentor and support a team of Spanish teachers, providing guidance, resources, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
- Promote cross-cultural awareness and appreciation by integrating authentic cultural experiences, literature, and media into the curriculum.
- Oversee the assessment and tracking of student progress in Spanish, ensuring that assessments are meaningful, fair, and aligned with learning objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments
- Monitor departmental budget and resources effectively, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization to support teaching and learning goals.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider community, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- Fully Qualified Teacher status
- Degree in Spanish or a related field
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, with a deep understanding of Spanish language, literature, and culture.
- Leadership experience or potential, with a track record of effectively managing teams and driving positive change.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Creative and innovative approach to curriculum design and delivery, with a commitment to student-centered learning.
