A prestigious Special Educational Needs (SEN) school group is seeking an exceptional Head of Science to lead the department at their Northampton site. This role is ideal for a passionate and dynamic educator with a commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement innovative and inclusive curricula tailored to students with diverse needs.
  • Mentor and support staff within the department, promoting professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to align departmental goals with the school's mission.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Science.
  • Extensive experience in teaching Science, ideally within an SEN setting.
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably within an educational context.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and SEN pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to creating an environment where every student can thrive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
